Senator Ibrahim Khalid Soba, representing Kaduna North Senatorial District, has condemned the killing of 12 travelers from Basawa Ward in Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna State during a mob attack in Plateau State.

The victims were part of a group of 31 en route to a wedding in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area, were attacked on Friday in Mangu LGA after reportedly stopping to ask for directions. Eleven others sustained injuries and are receiving treatment at a hospital in Mangu.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Senator Soba described the attack as “barbaric”; and called on security agencies to swiftly apprehend those responsible.

He urged both the Kaduna and Plateau State governments to work together to prevent further violence, and expressed his condolences to the bereaved families, wishing the injured a full recovery.
