Senator Barau Jibrin, hundreds of residents attend Dantata’s funeral prayers in Kano

The Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin have joined hundreds of Kano residents to attend the funeral prayers of the late Alhaji Aminu Dantata.

The prayers were led by the state chairman of the Council of Ullamas, Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil, joined by Senate, Barau Jibrin other top dignitaries and Muslim faithful from across the state.

The funeral prayers, conducted without the remains of the late elder statesman was held at the famous Bn Abu Thalib Mosque as earlier announced by the Council of Ullamas.

Dantata who died in Dubai at the age of 94 years was said to have left an instruction in his will and testament to be buried in Medina Saudi Arabia, close to the grave of his late wife.

However, for his recognized position for over 70 years, the Council of Ullamas felt it right to conduct the Sallatul Gaib (Prayers of the death in the absence of his remains).

Speaking shortly after the prayers, Senator Jibrin, described Dantata’s death as a great loss not only to Kano but entire Nigeria State.

He said that decades ago, Dantata was well known for his philanthropist jobs touching the lives of millions of people. Jibrin prayed for the reposed of his soul.
