SCOTT Mills was reportedly fired from the BBC over allegations of “serious sexual offences” against a teenage boy, it has been revealed.
It’s understood he was questioned by police under caution in 2016 but the case was dropped because of a lack of evidence, The Mirror reported.

It comes after from his Breakfast Show over allegations surrounding his “personal conduct.”
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson told The Mirror: “In December 2016, the Met began an investigation following a referral from another police force. The investigation related to allegations of serious sexual offences against a teenage boy.
These were reported to taken place between 1997 and 2000.
A man in his 40s at the time of the interview, was questioned by police under caution in July 2018, the spokesperson said.
“A full file of evidence was submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service, who determined the evidential threshold had not been met to bring charges.
“Following this advice, the investigation was closed in May 2019.”
Last Tuesday was the final time Scott – who earns almost £360,000 with the broadcaster – was on air, with the presenter handing over to at the end of his show.
Blindsided by the sacking, the presenter signed off just like every other as he looked forward to the next day’s broadcast – which never came.
After talking with Vernon, Scott told listeners: “I’m back tomorrow, with Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Thank you!”
However, the following day saw Gary Davies stand in as a host as he was joined by , with the broadcaster filling in for each show since.
Davies, , came on air to tell fans he was “in for Scott Mills” before proceeding with the breakfast show.
Confirming that Scott is no longer hosting, a spokesperson for the said: “While we do not comment on matters relating to individuals, we can confirm Scott Mills is no longer contracted to work with the BBC.”
According to The Mirror , Lorna Clarke, Director of Music at the BBC, confirmed the sacking in a statement to staff.
It read: “I wanted to personally let you know that Scott Mills has left the Breakfast show, and the BBC.
“I know that this will be sudden and unexpected and therefore must come as a shock.

“I felt it was important to share this news with you at the earliest opportunity.”
Scott took over the flagship breakfast show in 2025 from Zoe Ball.
He began his career at the Beeb on Radio 1 in the late 1990s.
The shock sacking comes just weeks after Scott was unveiled as one of the hosts for Race Across The World’s spin-off podcast, The Detour.
He was due to present it with former contestant Alfie Watts, but today’s shock news leaves the future of the programme in uncertainty.
The Radio 2 star was also set to host Eurovision this year, having unveiled as YouTuber LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER last month.
In 2024, the Radio 2 star married his long-term partner Sam Vaughan in Barcelona.
The pair got engaged in 2021 after four years together.
