The DJ icon is taking on the Great Northern Marathon Challenge this week.
Covering 135 miles on foot across four counties in five days, Sara will be completing the equivalent of five marathons.
Earlier this month, Sara discussed the challenge and mentioned that star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had given her some advice before she embarked on this demanding task.
According to The Independent, Sara shared Dwayne’s advice: “He was fantastic.
“I asked him if he would consider joining me along the route and giving me a piggyback at some point.
“He insisted he was very busy before he even knew the date of the challenge.
“But he did say to just imagine how you’d feel if you didn’t do it, if you didn’t push yourself that extra bit, which was really helpful.
“I’ll keep that thought in my mind. There’s no way I can’t finish this. I absolutely have to complete it.”
Dwayne’s advice wasn’t the only guidance Sara received before her challenge.
She also got some tips from Radio 2 presenter Paddy, who completed a cycling challenge last year and raised £10.3 million for the cause. He advised her to “block out all the noise and just focus on training.”
The radio star will be walking, running, and jogging from Kielder Forest to Pudsey, starting her challenge today and finishing on November 14.
Reflecting on her decision to participate in the challenge, Sara previously stated: “The issue is, when you’re asked to take on the Children In Need challenge, it’s a tremendous privilege wrapped in extreme physical exertion. You can’t say no to it, because why would you?
“You’re being given the opportunity to undertake a massive challenge that is hopefully going to change many children’s lives.
“Mentally, I’m breaking it down into segments of five miles, because at the end of each five or six miles, someone will help me with ice for my knee and hopefully give me a chocolate bar or something to keep me going.”
She also added: “The challenge has completely consumed my life, from the training to the lead-up.
“It’s all hard work, but it’s all for a really good cause.”
Sara later emphasized that by taking on this significant challenge, she aims to highlight the charities that need support.
“I believe it’s incredibly important to promote these charities run by amazing individuals who dedicate their lives to helping children.
“That’s the true magic of Children In Need,” she expressed.
