EMOTIONAL Sam Thompson has opened up about a “super tough” time after undergoing surgery on his vocal cords.
The star admitted the ordeal left him struggling, as he shared a candid update with fans about his recovery.

, 33, shared with fans that he had to to remove a cyst on his vocal cords.
He went three days without speaking, but updated fans on his recovery on .
In a video shared from his home, he recorded him talking for the first time after three days of silence.
Wearing a relaxed-fit brown t-shirt, he beamed a smile at the camera as he said: “Hello”.
His girlfriend, , was seen behind him, cheering him on by applauding and saying: “He speaks.”
He captioned the video: “We’re god damn back baby!!! HELLO!!!!”
Sam repeatedly said “hello” and “cat” as he tested his vocal cords.
It was obvious he wasn’t back to his normal self as his voice cracked and appeared to cause him pain.
But he was still smiling and fist-pumping the air, clearly thrilled to be able to speak again.
He also shared a selfie, writing an emotional message admitting: “I know it sounds crazy but the last three days was super tough.
“I didn’t realise how much I need to talk to get my emotions out and how much I need interaction with people.
“Probably just me being soft and also the I imagine plays a factor but yeah was really quite full on.”
Cysts happen when glands that produce mucus in the throat get blocked up.
According to after-care advice from London-based Guys and St Thomas’ , they state: “For the first three days after the operation, we recommend that you do not speak or use your voice at all.
“This is to allow healing time for the surface of your vocal cord or cords around the site of the surgery.”
Sam rose to fame appearing on the hit reality show Made in Chelsea.
He was introduced as little brother, before he got tangled up in relationships with , and .
Nowadays, he is a presenter on Hits radio and has a with his best mate and former star called Staying Relevant.
The podcast is a huge hit with viewers and has even expanded into sold-out live shows.
He also fulfilled his childhood dream by winning in 2023.
