The Devon thrower has impressively not dropped a set during his journey to the quarter-finals.
Despite earning a substantial £100,000, he was not entirely pleased with his performance and continues to strive for even greater achievements.
He stated: “It’s my partner Sophie’s birthday tomorrow. I haven’t gotten her a card or anything, so I’ll wake up early before she does and try to find her something.”
“I was looking for a gift to pick out for her! I have two days off now, so I might go into London, browse around, and try not to spend too much.”
“Honestly, I thought my performance was poor. So, to win £100,000 is significant. I’m not quite sure what happened; I just threw a few darts and managed to win, so we’ll take it.”
“If I feel like I’ve played well, I can’t predict what average I’ll hit or how well I’ll perform.”
“There’s much more to come from me, and to do this on the biggest stage in the world in front of such an amazing crowd is a dream come true. I’m just thankful.”
Searle will face either Jonny or Swedish debutant Andreas Harrysson on New Year’s Day.
He added: “I met Jonny in town earlier. I mentioned to him that if we both win, we’ll face each other, and if not, I’ll play Andreas, both of whom are fantastic players on their day.”
“I’m looking forward to it. If I play the game I know I can, there’s no reason why I can’t go all the way.”
“If I didn’t believe that, and if other players didn’t believe that, there’d be no point in being here.”
