RUSSIA has announced a manhunt for former British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace.

It remains unclear why Vladimir Putin’s regime is seeking his arrest.

Pro-Kremlin outlet Readovka reported: “The Russian Interior Ministry has announced a search for former UK Defense Minister Ben Wallace

“A corresponding card appeared on the ministry’s page.

“However, it is not specified under which criminal article Wallace is being prosecuted.

“The former UK Defence Minister is known for calling for more active mobilisation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as for calling to destroy the Crimean Bridge.”

Wallace, 55, was defence secretary for just over four years, including the period when Putin invaded Ukraine in 2022.

He served as defence secretary for three premiers – Boris Johnson, Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak.

He left parliament in 2024, and is now active in the defence, security and investment world.

Wallace visited Moscow around two weeks before Putin staged his illegal invasion of Ukraine.

The Russian defence minister Sergei Shoigu lied to Wallace about Vladimir Putin’s intentions to invade Ukraine.

The Sun has contacted the UK foreign office for comment.
