A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has issued a caution to activist politician Omoyele Sowore regarding his call for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Igbokwe stated that Sowore should distance himself from the situation, as Kanu is responsible for the deaths of many individuals in the Southeast.
In a Facebook post titled: “Final Warning to Omoyele Sowore,” the APC chieftain asserted that Kanu’s associates have turned the Southeast into a battlefield.
He wrote: “Omoyele Sowore claims he is marching to Aso Rock to protest against the detention of the so-called Butcher of the Southeast, Nnamdi Kanu. I have advised him as a friend to run far away. I have also informed his younger brother, Barrister Allen Sowore, to tell Omoyele to steer clear of Nnamdi Kanu’s issues because they are beyond his understanding.
“I have tried to offer him guidance, but he refuses to heed my advice. Nnamdi Kanu has caused the loss of countless lives in the Southeast over the past decade. His followers have turned the Southeast into a place of chaos, akin to Thomas Hobbes’ description of the State of Nature, where life is harsh and brutal. Nnamdi Kanu has devastated the Southeast.
“The man lacks reason, spirit, sensibility, wisdom, knowledge, character, and understanding.
“It was a futile endeavor that set back the Igbo nation by 50 years. We lost our respect, honor, integrity, dignity, common sense, and wisdom. I cannot comprehend what has come over our people.
“We remained silent while foolish individuals and vagabonds destroyed the land of the rising sun. We fell asleep, and children, led by the misguided Nnamdi Kanu, dragged the Igbo Nation into a dire situation that will take years to rectify.
“Sowore, Sowore, Sowore—how many times must I call you? Three times, right? Run far away from the Southeast’s issues. You know nothing about the havoc Nnamdi Kanu wreaked in the Southeast over ten years under the guise of a senseless Biafra project. Blood has been shed. Blood has been shed. I am a victim. Visit Nnewi and see my home. Speak to the people before you involve yourself in this misguided mission. Conduct your research in the Southeast before you express your opinions on this matter. The path leads to nowhere. I have fulfilled my responsibility.
“If you are from the Southwest, South-South, North-Central, Northeast, or Northwest, disregard Kanu and the reckless meddler known as Sowore. This so-called Aluta continua adventure is no longer relevant. It is childish, simplistic, and utterly senseless.”
