RUBEN AMORIM is optimistic that his Manchester United squad is finally maturing after showcasing an ‘adult’ performance.
The Portuguese manager faced intense scrutiny following a disappointing defeat last week.

This time, however, the performance from his Red Devils was far from childish.
First-half goals from new signings marked a more mature display, while debutant goalkeeper Senne Lammens maintained a clean sheet.
Amorim stated: “It wasn’t a flawless performance — we had our moments. But we were a competitive and mature team.”
England international Mount earned a starting spot over the big-money summer acquisition and rewarded his manager with an early goal.
After the match, he affirmed that the players are fully behind the manager, despite rumors about his job security.
Mount remarked: “We’re completely behind the gaffer. We’ve experienced some results that have been tough for us – the team, the staff, and the fans.
“But that was a crucial win.”
Amorim added: “I understand they want to perform their best, and I know they don’t want to be changing coaches constantly. But we need to demonstrate that through our actions.
“I can feel it during the week, but we need to display it on the pitch. At times, they recognize that we can perform better.”
Following the international break, United will travel to face their next opponent before hosting Brighton — a team that has been a challenge in recent years.
Amorim lamented the fact that his team struggles to achieve consecutive victories.
He expressed: “There’s no momentum, whether it’s during the international break or not.
“We know what happens when we win a game. The frustration lies in not seeing the same team perform consistently at home and away.”
Sesko followed up his initial goal for the club last weekend with his first at the Theatre of Dreams.
He commented: “It was vital to win the game for the overall morale.
“We demonstrated once again that we can play well and secure victories. It’s important to continue in this manner.”
Sunderland struggled to recover after the two early goals. They believed they had a penalty just before half-time due to a high boot from Sesko, but it was overturned by VAR.
Manager Regis Le Bris stated: “We are disappointed, but we are still a young team with limited experience together, so we will encounter ups and downs.
“Of course, we don’t want to be overly negative when we lose, but it serves as a strong reminder that this league is very demanding.”
