Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Friday lauded his supporters who have gathered since Thursday to receive him.
DAILY POST reported that the Fubara’s supporters, known as the Simplified Family, had gathered at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Thursday to receive the governor but were disappointed as he failed to show up.
The governor, however, landed in the state’s capital city on Friday with thousands of his supporters still gathered at the airport.
Addressing them, Fubara said their reception was humbling, stressing that he was briefed of their gathering at the Government House on Thursday.
The governor, who is expected to resume office following the suspension of state of emergency in the state, promised the Rivers people that he would continue to do those things that made them love his administration.
He said, “I’m really humbled by what I saw at the airport today. I was also briefed with photography of what happened here yesterday.
“That reception really humbled me it showed love, confidence and solidarity. I want to say that it is not just a celebration but a massive reception.
“I want to assure you that we will, by the grace of God continue to do things that made you love us”.
