The Sole Administrator of Ahoada East Local Government Area, Goodluck Iheamnacho, has dismissed reports of his resignation, describing a circulating letter bearing such claims as fabricated.
Iheamnacho noted that the letter, which appears to carry his signature, contains a major factual error, thereby undermining its authenticity.
According to the contents of the purported resignation letter, Iheamnacho allegedly served “from April 11, 2025, to July 20, 2025.”;
However, he clarified that his appointment began on April 11, 2025, and as of June 20, 2025, he remains in office, adding that it is impossible for him to have served through July when it is still the month of June.
The resignation letter, which carried the termination date as July 21, 2025, had on Friday raised concerns amongst Rivers people, who on social media alleged foul play.
Iheamnacho expressed suspicion that the letter was generated with malicious intent by individuals seeking to discredit him.
He reassured the public that he has not resigned and has no intention of doing so.
He also urged the public and relevant authorities to disregard the “false letter”; and called for a thorough verification of its source and authenticity.
He also alleged that he was attacked at his office.
He said, “I did not resign from my appointment as the Sole Administrator of Ahoada East.
“I was attacked in my office, and the letter they brought was not signed by me. I don’t know anything about the letter.
“So, I want to tell members of the public that I did not resign from my appointment as the Sole Administrator of Ahoada East.
“Any other information aired is null and void. So, I am still the Administrator of Ahoada East.”;
