Following on from the season one cliffhanger, Tennant’s pantomime baddie Lord Tony Baddingham is alive and kicking – ready to take revenge on Rupert Campbell-Black and Declan O’Hara’s rival television company Venturer.

But the bitter rivalry is likely to be background filler, as the Rutshire locals get back to doing what they do best – bonking.

A , who plays pretty new politician wife Sarah, is seen saucily winking at the mention of a ‘happy ending’ with hubby Paul in the opening moments of the trailer.

While newly married, it hasn’t stopped the blonde bombshell from getting it on with co-anchor James Vereker – who is seen completely starkers and pointing to his privates in another telling clip.

It’s not the only office romp viewers can expect from the second instalment, as a red hot pair of panties gets flung in Tennant’s face in another compromising tease.

Then there’s a naked aka likely lad and entrepreneur Freddie Jones who confirms his affair with writer Lizzie Vereker (Katherine Parkinson) is very much on in season two.

The duo proved to be fan-favourites in the first outing, with their bashful characters and will-they-won’t-they narrative.

And at the heart of it all lies young Taggie and bad boy Rupert’s romance, which looks to be tested in the upcoming adventure.

“In the second season, the battle for the Central South West television franchise reaches fever pitch as the war between Corinium and Venturer enters a dangerous new phase,” teases the official show synopsis.

“More ruthless than ever, Tony Baddingham is determined to dismantle his rivals piece-by-piece, weaponising scandal and manipulating those closest to him to maintain his grip on power.

“Amidst the hedonistic glamour of 80s excess, the personal lives of our Rutshire heroes spiral into chaos.

“Marriages fracture under the weight of ambition, illicit affairs threaten to shatter families, and long-buried secrets ignite with explosive consequences.

“As rivalries push everyone to the brink, loyalties are tested and hearts are broken in the pursuit of victory. But what is the true cost of war?”

In addition to the returning cast, audiences can look forward to some more star attraction in the form of Rupert Everett and Hayley Atwell

Atwell is Helen Gordon, Rupert Campbell-Black’s ex-wife and mother of his two children, to Everett’s Malise Gordon, her new husband and Campbell Black’s former show-jumping coach and mentor.

Two new hunks are also set to draw attention on screen as polo players Sebbie and Dommie Carlisle make their entrance, played by Sanditon’s Maxim Ays and actor Bobby Lockwood.

will already be aware of the duo as characters in the Rutshire Chronicles.
