FORMER IndyCar driver Rick Treadway has died in a motorbike crash at the age of 56.
The racing driver most famously competed in the 2002 Indy 5000 under his father Fred Treadway’s race team.

Born in 1970, Treadway made 11 career IndyCar starts across two seasons.
His most notable appearance came in the 2002 Indianapolis 500, where he started 17th.
He raced for Treadway Racing, a team owned by his father, Fred Treadway.
The team famously won the 1997 Indianapolis 500 with drive Arie Luyendyk.
Treadway’s best IndyCar finish was fifth place at Texas Motor Speedway in 2001.
Before reaching IndyCar, he competed in Formula 2000, USAC Silver Crown, National Midget and SCCA events.
Away from racing, he worked as a commercial pilot and FAA-certified flight instructor.
