AN Olive Garden chef has died after jumping headfirst into a searing hot deep fat fryer in an apparent suicide attempt, police have said.
The worker, who has not been identified, stripped naked before taking the horrifying plunge at the chain’s restaurant in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Emergency dispatchers could be heard saying: “A male victim went head first into the fryers,” in a grim 911 call.
The operator also told officers: “I don’t have a lot of details, people screaming, some kind of a burn victim.”
The cook was rushed to hospital with severe burn injuries, but sadly succumbed to his injuries, officials said.
A female employee was also treated for burn injuries after she and several other workers tried to stop the man from injuring himself further.
Both Olive Garden and a spokesman for the Pennsylvania State Police have said the incident was a suicide attempt.
Cops added: “Out of respect for the individual and their family, we do not release information.”
