THE Red Arrows have been a revered UK attraction since they debuted in 1964.

Here’s how to watch them at Silverstone’s “Gassed on Track” display.

What is the Red Arrows route?

You can see the full flight path for Silverstone below, per the website Military Airshows :

The Red Arrows are scheduled to depart RAF Waddington at 3.13pm.

They will then head past areas such as Whisby, Goadby Marwood and Middleton Cheny before reaching Silverstone at 3.30pm.

They will perform for approximately 20 minutes before leaving the area, heading back to RAF Waddington, where they will land at 4.04pm.

The full route today is as follows:

  • 3.13pm – Depart RAF Waddington
  • 3.15pm – Vicinity of Whisby
  • 3.18pm – Vicinity of Goadby Marwood
  • 3.24pm – North East of Harpole
  • 3.26pm – North East of Priors Marston
  • 3.27pm – West of Middleton Cheny
  • 3.28pm – North of Halse
  • 3.29pm – Vicinity of Chapel Close
  • 3.30pm – Vicinity of Silverstone
  • 3.51pm – Vicinity of Cosgrave
  • 3.53pm – Vicinity of Brixworth
  • 3.57pm – North of Whissendine
  • 3.59pm – North East of Swinstead
  • 4.01pm – East of Oasby
  • 4.02pm – Vicinity of RAF Cranwell

Why are there only seven Red Arrows in 2026?

In a shake-up announced on Saturday, May 23, the are now performing with seven aircraft instead of the traditional nine for the majority of their displays in 2026.

The change has been brought in to help manage the team’s ageing Hawk T1 jets as they prepare to transition to newer types of aircraft.

An spokesperson said: “The Red Arrows are the pride of the nation, known globally for their world-class precision, speed, and teamwork.

“The Red Arrows will fly in a nine-aircraft formation for HM The King’s Birthday Flypast and the 4th of July 250 Commemorations in the USA this year.

“For other displays, they will operate with seven aircraft, continuing to deliver high-quality, engaging displays at air shows and events across the UK, mainland Europe and further afield.”

What time is the Silverstone ‘Gassed on Track’ display?

The Red Arrows “Gassed on Track” display will start at 3.30pm.

However this may be subject to change so it is best to double check beforehand to avoid disappointment.
