And it took them just nine minutes to find the breakthrough, with Rashford, on loan from Manchester United, firing home the opener.
The winger lined up over a free-kick on the edge of the box, and looked as though he could be setting to curl a cross to the back post.
But instead he smashed his effort towards the top left corner of the goal, leaving Thibaut Courtois absolutely no chance.
The finish was Rashfordβs 28th, and almost certainly best, goal contribution since joining the Spanish giants in the summer.

It could not have come at a more important moment for the starβs side, as they looked to cement their spot at the summit of the Spanish top flight.
They entered the tie 11 points ahead of their rivals, with just three games left to play after the match.
And while Rashfordβs free kick was already a dream start, former Manchester City man Ferran Torres doubled his sideβs advantage just nine minutes later.
It is his second loan spell since falling out of favour at United under Ruben Amorim, after he spent the second half of last season with Aston Villa.
With Amorim gone, and Michael Carrick showing form for reviving forgotten stars like Kobbie Mainoo since taking over at Old Trafford, questions remain over what role Rashford could play at the club in the future.
