The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has said that the rainy season has not yet begun.
In a brief statement issued on Tuesday, NiMET warned that the rains observed in some parts of central Nigeria do not signify the onset of the rainy season in the country.
“Though early onset of the rainy season is expected in coastal and North Central states, but not yet. Nevertheless, a late onset of rain is expected in Borno State and environs,” the agency said.
It disclosed that there would be 28 to 40 rain-free days during the 2026 rainy season.
