Both Chelsea and West Ham expressed interest in a loan arrangement.

However, according to The Times , Sterling has declined West Ham's approach and is instead inclined toward a move to West London rivals Fulham.

While West Ham is battling relegation, Fulham is currently stable in 11th place.

Sterling, who was signed by Chelsea from Manchester City in 2022 for £50 million, still has 18 months remaining on his contract.

The forward, who has won four Premier League titles with City, prefers a permanent transfer away from Stamford Bridge.

Last summer, he hesitated to join Juventus or Bayer Leverkusen as he wanted to stay in London to be close to his family.

This also ruled out a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia.

Crystal Palace is also interested in acquiring Sterling to strengthen their squad, which is competing in Europe.

Sterling's chances of moving to Fulham would improve if winger Adama Traore departs this month, following interest from West Ham.

The 31-year-old has made 81 appearances for Chelsea, netting 19 goals.

However, he was not included in Enzo Maresca’s plans and has been training alone this season after declining the opportunity to leave in the summer.

Consequently, the club is now in search of a new manager.
