THIS is the shocking moment a raging husband grabs a “pregnant” pickpocket by her hair – after she allegedly stole from his wife.
The suspect, who desperately claimed she was pregnant as she tussled with the alleged victim’s partner, was snatched by her locks at a holiday hotspot in Italy.
Dramatic footage shows two men, one of them being the irate husband, keeping the woman restrained by holding her hair.
Crowds of baffled bystanders watch on as the fracas unfolds in Piazza di San Lorenzo, a popular square in Florence.
One man clutches onto the woman’s brunette locks, before she drops the backpack.
Meanwhile, another gripped her left arm during the tug.
She is then heard exclaiming in Spanish: “I’m pregnant!”
The man keeps his fist clenched on the woman’s hair, her hat teetering off of her head.
At one point, she seemingly smirks as she struggles to release herself from the fuming husband’s iron grasp.
Suddenly, another pickpocket appears to get involved, demanding the woman be released.
The chaos takes another frantic turn as tourists start shouting for witnesses to phone the cops as they try to recover the backpack.
Two alleged thieves were later arrested, local media reported.
The viral video, posted on Instagram by firenze_cronaca_pickpocket, is captioned: “This time it happened that two pickpockets, together, tried to steal a tourist’s backpack.”
The account claimed: “The husband, exasperated, intervened and reacted with force to defend his wife.
“In the end, luckily, the police also arrived who stopped and arrested them.”
Piazza di San Lorenzo is a popular spot for tourists, home to the Basilica of San Lorenzo, the city’s oldest cathedral.
The iconic cathedral is the resting place of Medici family.
