A prominent journalist in Plateau State, Madara Kim Usman, has called on Christians in the state and Nigeria in general to pray for Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, who he said is battling with a relapse of a liver disease and would need to be flown abroad for urgent treatment.

Early in 2025, the Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations, COCIN, in charge of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of the state was in India where he had a successful liver transplant which was donated by his wife.

On his return, Rev. Dachomo decided to take up the advocacy against Christian genocide in the state and was one of the few voices who brought the menace of systematic killing of Christians in the state to the public space despite denials by the Nigerian government.

Rev. Dachomo who is one of the most respected and fearless men of God in Plateau State and indeed Nigeria, was diagnosed with liver cancer not too long ago, which necessitated the surgery.

After the successful surgery, Rev. Dachomo made a powerful and soul-inspiring video giving God glory for great things done and equally sent his appreciation for all who prayed for him.

According to Usman, the advocacy must have taken its toll on the health of the fiery man of God, including intimidation by the government and the heat he has faced from those who keep denying the existence of Christian genocide in Nigeria.

Usman noted that in the past few weeks, Rev. Dachomo has been under the weather as the disease has relapsed, thereby making him not to be as vociferous as he had been towards the end of 2025.

In the brief post on his Facebook page on Wednesday, Usman said: “The famous Nigerian anti-genocide preacher is secretly battling escalating liver disease requiring urgent medical trip overseas. Please let’s all pray for him.”
