An armed policeman who was suspected to be drunk early Sunday morning, shot dead four persons at the popular Watt market, Calabar.
The policeman had emerged from the nearby Atakpa Police Station where he ran amock, shooting at passersby and market women.
Identities of the victims were not known as at when this report was filed.
The resultant pandemonium had traders, motorists and bystanders scampering for safety.
Eyewitnesses also reported that the police have, as a result, cordoned off the busy market road.
Police authorities were yet to confirm the incident.
