A POLICEMAN has sadly lost his life in the line of duty following a devastating crash on a dual carriageway.
His grieving colleagues have paid tribute to the “brave” officer, who was involved in the accident on the A12 near Ingatestone yesterday.
He was responding to an emergency call when he became part of the tragic collision between Brentwood and Chelmsford.
It has been confirmed that the officer was riding a motorbike at the time of the incident, which took place just before 12:30 PM.
At this point, the police do not believe any other vehicle was involved.
