Police foil kidnap attempt in Katsina, rescue 10 victims

A kidnapping attempt was foiled by security operatives in Katsina State on April 19, with ten victims rescued unharmed.

Zagazola Makama gathered from Intelligence sources that the incident occurred at around 2135hrs when a group of armed men, suspected to be bandits, barricaded the Funtua-Gusau Road near Marabar Bangori Village.

“Upon receiving the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Faskari Division promptly mobilized a team of patrol officers to the scene,”; Makama stated on X.

According to the post, police engaged the bandits in a firefight, leading to the rescue of the kidnapped victims.

“Two Golf vehicles, which had been hijacked by the perpetrators, were also recovered during the operation.”;

The rescued victims were unharmed, and police efforts are ongoing to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspects.

The Katsina State Police Command commended the swift response by officers and reiterated their commitment to curbing criminal activities in the region.
