The Nigeria Police Force has extended the grace period for enforcing the tinted glass permit requirement for vehicles with tinted windows to October 2, 2025.

Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, approved the new date following a surge in applications on the official portal, indicating increased public compliance.

According to the Force, in a statement signed by its spokesperson on Monday, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the extension will allow more time to carefully review applications to ensure that only eligible and qualified individuals are granted permits, in line with national security concerns.

The police said the move will also enable further improvement of both digital and physical verification processes, to maintain the integrity of the permit system and prevent abuse.

The NPF also urged members of the public to report any cases of extortion, hidden charges, or unauthorized processing through the appropriate channel.
