Police begin prob into discovery of dead body at National Assembly complex

The Federal Capital Territory, FCT Police Command has commenced investigation into the circumstances surrounding the lifeless body of a man discovered inside a car at the National Assembly Complex.

Josephine Adeh, FCT Police Public Relations Officer of the command said in a statement on Monday, that the command received a call regarding the incident on Sunday.

She said the body is suspected to be that of a labourer, working at a construction site within the complex.

The PPRO said the Divisional Police Officer, DPO of the National Assembly Division, immediately responded to the call and “discovered the deceased inside a red Peugeot 406 motor vehicle with registration number BWR-577 BF”.

Josephine said the body of the deceased was promptly evacuated to Asokoro General Hospital, where “medical personnel confirmed that it was already in an advanced state of decomposition”.

“The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, has ordered a discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and directed that efforts be intensified to establish the identity of the deceased.

“Further updates will be communicated as the investigation progresses”, she added.
