Police arrest two for vandalising roadside barriers in Lagos

Operatives from the Isokoko Division of the Lagos State Police Command have apprehended two individuals suspected of vandalising concrete roadside barriers in the Ile-Zik area.

The arrest, effected on 22 April 2025, followed actionable intelligence provided by concerned members of the public.

The suspects, identified as Peter James, 26, and Lesipi Adamu, 24, were caught in the act of extracting iron rods embedded within the roadside barriers.

Law enforcement officers recovered several tools used in the act, including two sledgehammers, two cutting saws, and a pair of scissors.

Authorities have confirmed that efforts are ongoing to apprehend additional accomplices who fled the scene.

The recovered tools have been documented and submitted as evidence in the ongoing legal proceedings.

Commissioner of Police Olohundare Jimoh strongly condemned the destruction of public property, describing it as a grave threat to community safety and the integrity of urban infrastructure.

He reaffirmed the command’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property across Lagos State.
