The Kwara State Police Command has arrested three persons in connection with a series of violent kidnappings and the murder of a man in the Oro community, located in the Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.

The suspects, Mohammed Olaiya Dende, Mohammed Dende, and Somo Gida, were arrested following credible intelligence and corroborating statements from victims, which linked them directly to the coordinated attacks.

According to findings, the first incident occurred at the Yusuf Cashew Factory in Agbe-Ola, Oro, where armed assailants abducted three persons. During the operation, a man identified as Olugbo Jamiu was fatally shot.

Less than two days later, the gang reportedly struck again in the Oke-Erimi area of the same community, where another three people were kidnapped, further heightening fear and tension in the locality.

Confirming the arrests on Tuesday, the spokesperson for the state police command, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, said the suspects are now in custody and undergoing prosecution.

“You remember that those incidents raised concerns in the state but yes, they have been arrested and are now facing prosecution,”; she stated.
