THIS is the moment a woman’s attempt to practice her pole-dancing moves goes terribly wrong when the bar hits a sprinkler and floods her home.

Texas woman Asha Gilbert attempted to spin on the pole, but it dislodged and knocked a ceiling sprinkler as it fell sideways.

Chaotic footage shows water bursting out of the hole in the ceiling and drenching her Houston apartment.

Water continues to gush as the pole-dancing enthusiast rushes around the room.

The video captures her picking up the phone she had set up to record her dance moves and running for the exit.

Asha later said she had gone into “shock” and was “completely stunned” by the disastrous results.

She said her main concern had been for the safety of her dog.

Both the pooch and owner managed to flee the building unscathed, with firefighters attending the scene.

She had been attempting to follow an instruction video playing on the TV demonstrating some pole-dancing techniques.

Asha later made light of her pole-dancing blunder and shared a video of herself appearing unscathed.

The video shows her sitting on a stool and positioning herself as if she is about to tell her story to a documentary crew, in a nod to the Netflix documentary trend taking over social media.

The caption said: “POV: Me preparing for the documentary: Surviving going viral because my pole hit a sprinkler”.

Pole-dancing has become an increasingly popular form of exercise and is no longer solely the domain of strip clubs.

There are now many portable at-home poles for pole-dancing that are marketed as easy to install.

The fiasco highlights the risks of failing to properly install the devices.

The poles, which are specially designed to spin to allow the dancer to execute aerial moves, can cost upwards of £100 to purchase online.
