Shocking footage showed the smoking wreckage of the plane after it plummeted to the ground in North Andros.

The plane took off from Lynden Pindling International Airport, near capital Nassau, before it “encountered difficulties” midair, according to the country’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Authority.

It then dropped out of the sky and smashed into bushes on the Caribbean island yesterday at around 1pm.

Two other safety incidents had taken place on Friday, including a plane bursting into flames on the tarmac.

A fire broke out on board after an aircraft had landed when passengers had already disembarked, CBS news reported.

It had been re-routed to the Bahamian capital after the pilot had reported an issue.
