THREE pit bulls have eaten their owner after he collapsed and died alone at home – with the tragic man’s body left undiscovered for days.
Salvatore Allegrucci, 52, was mauled by his dogs after they were left starving as they remained trapped inside the home without food or water.

The grim discovery was made in Rigali, central Italy, on February 15.
Salvatore, known by his pals as Tore, was found lifeless and partially eaten on the floor of his apartment.
Worried relatives alerted authorities when they were unable to contact him.
Police, firefighters and veterinary services were called to the property.
After arriving, they noticed a strong smell coming from inside.
They forced themselves inside before discovering the 52-year-old dead in the main room of the flat.
Local cops believe he died of natural causes, possibly after suffering a sudden illness.
Investigators estimate he had been dead for at least four days before being found.
His three pit bulls had been left locked inside the apartment without food or water, and seemingly resorted to partially eating Salvatore’s body.
The dogs appeared agitated when emergency services entered the home, police said.
The local prosecutor has launched an investigation to probe the full circumstances and exact cause of the man’s death.
The three dogs were seized and taken to a veterinary service, where they will undergo health and judicial assessments.
Salvatore lived alone in the apartment complex.
A concerned niece first raised the alarm after Salvatore failed to answer calls or respond at the door.
The investigation remains ongoing pending the results of the autopsy.
Last December, a toddler was mauled to death by a stray pit bull.
