The Pioneer Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Environment and Technology, Koroma/Saakpenwa, Rivers State, Professor Prince Chinedu Mmom, officially resumed duties on Thursday 7th August 2025.
Hitting the ground running, the Vice-Chancellor began addressing key issues aimed at facilitating the prompt resumption of academic activities, in line with the mandate of President Bola Tinubu.
On Thursday, Professor Mmom led an inspection tour of the university campus alongside the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Professor Don Mon Baridam, and the Vice-Chancellor of Rivers State University, RSU, Professor Isaac Zeb-Obipi.
The visit, part of the final preparations for the commencement of academic activities, saw members of the Governing Council assess facilities, review infrastructure, and evaluate the overall readiness of the institution’s site.
Professor Mmom was appointed by President Tinubu on July 30 as the Pioneer Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Environment and Technology, Koroma/Saakpenwa (Ogoni), Rivers State.
The appointment was contained in a statement by presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga.
