A PETITION calling for Manchester City star Julian Alvarez to split up with his girlfriend has reached 20,000 signatures.
Alvarez recently returned to the UK following his World Cup win with Argentina earlier this month.
And while celebrating the incredible achievement his partner Emilia Ferrero infuriated some Argentina fans.
The issue arose after Emilia prevented Alvarez from posing for a photo with a group of adoring fans.
One supporter then took out his fury on the YouTuber influencer by launching an online petition calling for Alvarez to dump her.
The petition has attracted 20,000 signatures but there is no sign the 22-year-old will grant the fans their wish.
Alvarez and Emilia have dated for four years and the pair celebrated New Year’s together last night.
Emilia was also at the Etihad to welcome her boyfriend back to Eastlands along with other City fans.
Alvarez was paraded onto the pitch prior to kick-off and later came off the bench in the 1-1 draw.
Emilia is a big cheerleader for the striker and promised him: “I’ll follow you wherever you ask me to,” in a declaration of love.

The hockey player, who comes from the same village of Calchin in Cordoba as her former River Plate frontman boyfriend, is thought to have been first dated Alvarez briefly around five years ago before they resumed their relationship.
But it is only since his move to Manchester ahead of this season that the pair went public with their romance.
