Nigerian singer and songwriter Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has opened up about the events that led to the fallout between him and his twin brother, Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy.

Peter addressed the long-standing controversy in a video shared on his Instagram page on Thursday, where he explained his side of the story and challenged anyone, including his twin brother, to provide evidence to contradict his account.

Sharing the video with a caption, Peter wrote, “I’ve watched lies travel farther than the truth. Today, I’m finally giving the truth a voice.”

In the video, the singer said he decided to speak out because many people have continued to speculate about what happened between the brothers without knowing the full details.

According to him, he had previously apologised on the same platform where the original post that sparked the controversy was made.

“I am going to speak my truth Today. I challenge anybody, including my twin brother. Anybody can provide a video,” Peter said.

He added, “I hear a lot of people saying, ‘What exactly happened to this guy?’ because most of you don’t even know what happened to us. But Today, I am going to say it.”

The feud between Peter and Paul became public after years of disagreements surrounding their music career, management, finances, and creative control.

Their elder brother, Jude Okoye, who managed the group, was also reportedly at the centre of some of the disagreements.

The brothers, who performed together as the popular music duo P-Square, eventually went their separate ways in 2017 after more than a decade of performing and recording together.

Following the split, both singers pursued solo careers, with Paul adopting the stage name Rudeboy, while Peter became known as Mr P.
