PEP GUARDIOLA has told those close to him that he wants to boss England – just days after quitting Manchester City.
The Spaniard, 55, ended a decade in charge at the Etihad Stadium with a on the final day of the season.

But, following an and 17 major honours at City, Guardiola is already assessing his options.
And Daily Mail reporter Jack Gaughan has suggested the former Barcelona chief has privately admitted to pals the England job is on his radar.
He told Sky Sports: “I don’t think we’ll see him in club management, although he is prone to changing his mind quite hastily.
“There was an Instagram post from his eldest daughter the other day, while he was doing his send-offs at the Co-op Live and through the streets of Manchester.
“She wasn’t just talking about , she was talking about football in the past tense, which very much read like a retirement letter to me.
“But he has told friends that he would fancy England in the future, so if things were to align that would be something to look out for.”
It has previously been suggested that Guardiola wants the chance to fight for World Cup glory after already enjoying a trophy-laden managerial career at club level.
He spearheaded City to six Premier League crowns, , and clinched the LaLiga and Bundesliga titles three times apiece with Barcelona and Bayern Munich respectively.

But has not had a taste of calling the shots at an international tournament.
The three-time Champions League winner will have to be patient if he is only interested in bagging the England job.
