PAULIE MALIGNAGGI was rushed to the hospital and left “blind in one eye” following his brutal bare-knuckle bout against Tyler Goodjohn.
The star ended his six-year break from fighting to compete once more.

At 44, he demonstrated that he still possessed considerable skill as he narrowly secured a victory by split decision.
However, many would have been surprised to learn he was declared the winner based on his appearance after the match.
The Italian-American, similar to Goodjohn , was left bruised and bloodied by the time the final bell rang.
He was seen with a large cut extending from near the top of his forehead down into his right eyebrow.
Malignaggi also suffered from swollen hands due to repeatedly striking Goodjohn throughout the fight.
After being announced as the winner, the fighter disclosed that he was unable to see from his right eye.
He stated: “After that eye poke, when I went down, I still can’t see.
“I’m still hazy on this side. That might explain why I got hit with that shot that cut me.
“I’m still very fuzzy in this eye after that eye poke. Hopefully, I’ll go backstage and have it checked out.
“I am blind in this eye right now. Yes, it’s quite foggy.
“I completed the fight with essentially one eye because I can’t see out of this one. I only see shadows.”
He was taken to the hospital, where he spent the night.
Speaking to BKB, he remarked: “I spent the night in the hospital.
“I haven’t slept yet. So, aside from that and feeling sore and beaten up from the fight, I feel like an old man.

“But I’m grateful that I secured the win.
“It was an incredible experience to perform in the trigon against a fighter whom I regard as a significant pioneer.
“A legend in the world of bare-knuckle fighting.”
