The upcoming drama “Confidence Queen” has shared a glimpse of its first script reading session!
A Korean adaptation of the 2018 Japanese comedy drama “The Confidence Man JP,” “Confidence Queen” follows three con artists with extraordinary talents as they pull off elaborate scams targeting villains from all walks of life. Park Min Young stars as Yoon Yi Rang, a con artist with an IQ of 165 and a genius-level intellect in the top 1 percent. With her eccentric thinking and cold charisma, she leads the team in their intricate schemes.
The script reading was attended by cast members Park Min Young, Park Hee Soon , Joo Jong Hyuk , Jung Woong In , and more.
Park Min Young fully embodied Yoon Yi Rang’s lively and sharp-witted persona, dazzling with flawless expressions, vibrant energy, and perfectly pitched tone that showcased her character’s exceptional con artist skills.
Park Hee Soon made a strong impression as the suave and composed gentleman James. With a confident and trustworthy tone, he captured James’ seasoned leadership at the heart of the team. From casual interactions with his teammates to moments of subtle humor and charisma, Park Hee Soon fully brought out the multifaceted charm of James.
Joo Jong Hyuk portrayed Myung Gu Ho, the youngest and pure-hearted member of the con artist crew, delivering a sincere and nuanced performance with clear diction and heartfelt emotion.
Meanwhile, Jung Woong In commanded attention as Jeon Tae Soo, the villain dominating the first two episodes, intensifying the drama’s tension with his fierce and compelling performance.
“Confidence Queen” is set to premiere on September 6 at 9:10 p.m. KST.
