Maria was found on the roadside in an affluent neighborhood in Dubai before being rushed to the hospital for surgery.
After nearly 10 months of intense rehabilitation, Maria has proudly showcased her remarkable recovery.
Having discarded the wheelchair that assisted her since the near-fatal incident, Maria stated she is “rising from the ashes, learning to live and believe again.”
She shared a touching video of herself walking across a snow-covered bridge in Norway, where she has been receiving treatment.
A huge smile adorned the young model and makeup artist’s face as she gazed at the camera.
Additional clips depict Maria continuing her recovery with yoga and stretching exercises alongside her trainer.
Addressing her 42,000 followers on social media, Maria expressed that at the onset of her treatment, she felt like “a broken doll.”
“I kept wondering how I would live with these injuries, with this scar, disfigured…how I would somehow carry on with my life,” she added.
“However, over time, my perspective on the world began to shift.
“I started to focus more on my inner self and realized that what matters most is your inner state — the lessons you learn and how you feel.
“I managed to persevere thanks to the support of my loved ones and friends. I felt the healing power of love.”
Despite the months that have passed since Maria was found unconscious, injured, and alone, justice remains elusive.
Police in Dubai have never identified the individual responsible for her life-altering injuries.
Maria’s devastated mother recounted the horrors her daughter endured after it was revealed that the model had no memory of the ill-fated party.
Maria was left fighting for her life after being “scalped during torture.”
Her mother, Anna, stated that Maria’s “hair was shorn with a knife” before she was scalped.
Speaking on the Ukrainian TV show Hovoryt vsia kraina, Anna described, “It appeared that it was done with a knife, right across the face.
“It looked as if it was done with a knife from the center of the head down to the eye, and the hair was cut off.”

Maria also underwent several surgeries in Norway, where she was taken for treatment.
Three operations on each leg were followed by two on her spine and a final surgery to repair her fractured shoulder blade, according to Anna.
Initially, it was believed that Maria had been kidnapped into a sex trafficking ring associated with the infamous “Porta Potty” scene in the UAE.
