Legal consultant to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Aloy Ejimakor, has condemned the deployment of security agents to quell peaceful protest in Onitsha market by the Anambra State government.

Ejimakor described the action of the soldiers drafted to the scene of the protest as unconstitutional and should be reversed.

Posting on X, Ejimakor said the failure to withdraw the security agents may result in loss of lives.

According to Ejimakor, Igbos have paid enough with blood and sorrow.

He wrote: “The deployment of security agents (particularly soldiers) to quell the peaceful #OnitshaMarketClosure protest is unconstitutional & should be reversed immediately.

“If not, it may result in loss of lives which Ndigbo will never forgive. Igbos have paid enough in blood & sorrow.”

Recall that Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State had ordered the closure of the Onitsha Main Market for one week.

This followed traders’ failure to open shops on Monday, amid continued adherence to the sit-at-home directive by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
