Her Met Gala appearance comes after trolls when she was being interviewed previously at the film festival.
The House star was promoting her new film, The Invite, which she directed and also starred in.
She later took to her Instagram stories to address the comparison as she laughed it off.
Olivia blamed the unfortunate camera angle on the guant-like appearance.
She captioned her video: “Leave it to your little brother to give you the maximum amount of s***.”
In the video, her brother, Charlie Cockburn, asked: “Olivia Wilde, do you care to address recent rumours that you’re a resurrected corpse?”
She replied: “I don’t know why I was so close to the camera; I didn’t have to be.”
She added: “Do you have any more questions? I’m not dead.”
The Invite, which also stars Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton, tells the story of a married couple experiencing a rough patch in their relationship.
Hoping to break their monotonous routine, Joe (Rogen) and Angela (Wilde) invite their enigmatic, “free-spirited” upstairs neighbours, Hawk (Edward Norton) and Pina (Penélope Cruz), over for a dinner party.
The evening quickly shifts from awkward conversation to an intense, revealing encounter when Hawk and Pina reveal their open, sexual, and “untamed” lifestyle.
The film is an exploration of modern relationships, exploring whether the night will reignite the spark in Joe and Angela’s marriage or completely burn it down.
