OLEKSANDR USYK has challenged Deontay Wilder to a fight, referring to him as one of the greatest heavyweights of the past decade.

The world champion has not entered the ring since defeating Daniel Dubois in July.

With that victory, he unified the division but has since relinquished his IBF title.

However, he is looking forward to returning to the ring and has pinpointed his desired opponent – Wilder.

Usyk shared with Boxing King Media: “I want to fight Deontay Wilder. I think it’s an intriguing matchup.

“This is a world champion, a very well-known figure, and a powerful athlete.

“He is among the top heavyweights of the last ten years.”

Meanwhile, Wilder, 40, last fought in June, where he defeated Tyrrell Anthony Herndon in seven rounds.

Although he has lost four out of his last six fights, he is reportedly interested in facing Usyk, as stated by his co-manager Shelly Finkel.

Finkel remarked: “Usyk is an exceptional champion.

“We have plans for next year, and we would like Oleksandr Usyk to be included in them.

“If we receive a suitable offer, we would be open to that fight.”
