A member of the Enugu State House of Assembly, representing the Nsukka West Constituency, Malachy Okey Onyechi, has expressed his shock over the passing of Senator Okey Ezea.
Ezea, prior to his death, represented the Enugu North Senatorial District in the 10th Senate.

Onyechi characterized Senator Ezea’s death as a significant loss for both Nsukka Zone and Enugu State, emphasizing that the late senator was recognized for his principled leadership, bravery, and dedication to justice and equality.
“It is with deep shock and profound sadness that I received the news of the passing of Distinguished Senator Okey Ezea Nzeogwu (Ideke), who served as the senator for Enugu North Senatorial District in the 10th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. His untimely death has cast a shadow of mourning over not just the Nsukka Zone, but the entire Enugu State,” Onyechi stated.
He remarked that the late senator was a humble public servant devoted to the welfare of his constituents and the promotion of the Nsukka cause.
According to him, the late senator’s appreciation for the history and heritage of his people was evident in his choice to name his company after the ancient Nsukka identity, Ideke.
The lawmaker conveyed his condolences to the residents of Igboeze South Local Government Area, the Itchi community, and the family of the deceased, praying for strength and comfort for his wife, children, and loved ones.
Onyechi noted that Senator Ezea leaves behind a legacy of integrity, service, and dedication, asserting that his death has left a substantial void in the political landscape of Igbo Nsukka.
