No fewer than eight vessels have arrived at the Lekki, Tin-Can Island and Apapa ports in Lagos and are currently awaiting clearance to offload consignments that include bulk urea, sugar, gypsum, base oil and empty containers.

This was contained in the Nigerian Ports Authority’s, NPA, latest “Shipping Position” report, released to journalists in Lagos on Tuesday.

According to the report, an additional 28 ships carrying petroleum products, food supplies and other cargoes are scheduled to arrive at the Apapa, Lekki and Tin-Can Island ports between January 27 and February 6.

The NPA disclosed that the expected arrivals will be transporting items such as bulk wheat and gypsum, fresh fish, petrol, bulk gas, crude oil, as well as containerised goods.

Meanwhile, 22 other vessels are presently at the ports, actively discharging various consignments.

These include containers, crude oil, alkaline substances, base oil, bulk clinker, bulk wheat, bulk gypsum, bulk urea and empty containers.
