The Adamawa State Government has announced that a notice claiming the recruitment of young individuals into the civil service has been deemed fraudulent.

The state Civil Service Commission, which is managing the recruitment process, has urged the public to ignore this document.

The alleged notice, which has been circulating on social media and other platforms and is purportedly signed by the Permanent Secretary, Abubakar Maiha, stated that the 2025 Civil Service Recruitment Exercise has been completed. It falsely claimed that every stage of the process, from application and screening to the CBT exam, interview, and final selection, had been finalized.

In a statement released on Sunday, the commission clarified that the document is a forgery and that its content is entirely untrue.

The Adamawa State Civil Service Commission emphasized that it never issued such a press statement and noted that the signature of the permanent secretary on the notice was criminally forged.

“The general public, especially applicants who participated in the ongoing recruitment process, is therefore advised to disregard the fraudulent publication in its entirety,” it stated.

Providing an update on the civil service recruitment process, which began several months ago to fill 4,000 vacant positions, the statement signed by Permanent Secretary Abubakar Maiha indicated that the commission is currently finalizing the necessary procedures, and an official update will be released in due course through verified government communication channels.

“The Commission also warns that any individual or group found to be involved in the creation or distribution of forged official documents will face legal action to the fullest extent of the law,” the statement added.

Is the recruitment notice for the civil service genuine?

What should applicants do regarding the fake notice?

Applicants are advised to ignore the fraudulent publication entirely.

When will the official update on the recruitment process be released?

An official update will be announced in due course through verified government communication channels.
