NORWAY’S Crown Princess told Jeffrey Epstein “you make me smile” after the paedophile financier revealed he was on a “wife hunt” in flirty email exchanges.

Mette-Marit, 52, has been forced to apologise after new Epstein files revealed a string of suggestive messages between the royal and the late sex offender.

The scandal-hit princess also told Epstein that Paris was “good for adultery” and suggested that Scandinavian women made “better wife material”.

It comes as her son, Marius Borg Høiby, 29, is set to face trial on Tuesday over rape charges from four women and assaulting a girlfriend.

Mette-Marit appeared to advise Epstein on his love life in messages dated to 2012, years after his sex trafficking conviction.

The emails also came a decade after she married King Harald V’s only son Crown Prince Haakon.

In the stunning exchanges, Epstein wrote: “What is the weather like, I am on my wife hunt. paris is proving interesting but i prefer scandinavians [sic].”

The princess responded: “Am still trying to get over the shock that you are in fact wife hunting ..”

Epstein then says: “Two norweivans [sic] here, 24 and 25 . , I like oslo.”

Mette-Marit then says: “My god! U Must be drunk spelling mistake. The girls are 24 & 25? I like Oslo too. Call me tmr.”

During the “wife hunt” exchanges, Mette-Marit, who could become Norway’s next queen, told Epstein that Paris was “good for adultery”.

She added: “Scandis [are] better wife material”.

The royal even signed off at least one message with her “love”, after the paedo sent her flowers.

Another exchange of emails show Epstein appearing to share a serious science article with the royal before joking around with her.

She tells the convicted sex offender: “You make me smile”.

Mette-Marit adds: “Because you tickle my brain.”

In a 2012 message, Mette-Marit told Epstein he was “very charming”.

She also asked if it was “inappropriate for a mother to suggest two naked women carrying a surfboard for my 15 yr old sons wallpaper?”

There is no suggestion that Mette-Marit is accused of any wrongdoing.

The Norwegian royal family has emphasised that the princess never visited the paedophile’s notorious island.

Mette-Marit previously claimed in 2019 that she had known Epstein between 2011 and 2013.

But she offered a renewed apology last weekend amid the release of over three million files related to Epstein by the Justice Department on Friday.

The Crown Princess said: “I deeply regret that, and this is a responsibility I must take.

“I showed poor judgment and regret having any contact with Epstein at all. It is simply embarrassing.”

She added: “Jeffrey Epstein is responsible for his actions.

“I must take responsibility for not checking Epstein’s background better and for not understanding quickly enough what kind of person he was.”

It comes as her son from before her royal marriage Høiby stands at the centre of Norway’s biggest trial in years.

The Crown Prince’s stepson is facing 38 charges – including the rape of four women and assaulting and threatening a former girlfriend.

He faces up to 10 years behind bars if found guilty.

Norwegian prince charged with rape

NORWEGIAN prince Marius Borg Høiby has been charged with four counts of rape among a slew of sex and violence allegations.

The son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit and stepson to heir to the throne Prince Haakon, Høiby has been the subject of a three-year-long investigation.

The disgraced royal is accused of 32 offences including rape, sexual assault and bodily harm.

The shocking claims include one count of rape involving intercourse, two without intercourse, four cases of sexual assault, and two of bodily harm.

In all instances, he allegedly assaulted the women while they were sleeping.

Høiby is also charged with abuse against his ex-partner Nora Haukland and acting violently towards another former girlfriend.

Høiby was repeatedly arrested throughout 2024 as the case unfolded, with preliminary charges of rape, violence and criminal damage.

He is set to go on trial on January 3.

Mette-Marit has been a controversial figure ever since she wedded Crown Prince Haakon in 2001.

She met the heir to the Norwegian throne at a music festival when Mette-Marit was dating a known convicted trafficker.

Høiby’s dad, a convicted drug felon, was Mette-Marit’s boyfriend’s roommate at the time.

The latest scandal has heaped fresh pressure on the royal and once again raised questions about whether she could one day become the queen of Norway.

It comes after US authorities released thousands of videos and hundreds of thousands of images on Friday amid the latest batch of Epstein documents.

Former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has come under fire again, after shocking pictures showed him on all fours on top of a woman.

Andrew has denied all wrongdoing over his ties to Epstein.

A woman at a royal residence.

She alleged she was sent by the paedo financier to Andrew at Royal Lodge in 2010.

The bombshell claim makes her the second woman, after abuse accuser Virginia Giuffre, to say she was trafficked to Andrew.

Epstein killed himself in 2019 while facing charges for sex trafficking of minors, and his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell is serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking and related crimes.

THE SUN SAYS

IF Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor had any shred of decency left he would agree to tell the truth about Jeffrey Epstein.

Out of love for his elder brother the King — not to mention care for the reputation of the Royal Family — he could finally set the record straight.

Stripped of his titles and banished to exile on the Sandringham Estate, the one way he can attempt to give closure to Epstein’s sex trafficking victims is to do as Prime Minister Keir Starmer demands and testify to the US Congress.

Anything he said could hardly be worse than the damage already caused.

Andrew has lied repeatedly about his close friendship with Epstein.

In his notorious Newsnight interview he said he had broken off all contact.

Yet newly released emails show he invited the paedophile to Buckingham Palace after he was jailed.

He also tried to smear victim Virginia Giuffre. The lies must end.

While Number 10 is calling for openness from public figures over Epstein, perhaps they could also persuade Lord Mandelson — Labour’s former Ambassador to Washington — to do likewise? It’s time for both men to tell us everything they know.
