All club-related developments are expected to wrap up by the end of that year.
The initiative will be spearheaded by CMS Group, with discussions about a potential renovation starting seven years ago.
Paul Rogers, Director of CMS Group, stated: “Achieving this significant milestone is a remarkable accomplishment for a project that ‘kicked off’ in 2018.
“It brings us closer to providing a sustainable, modern facility that will benefit both the club and the larger community.”
Additionally, chairman Oli Bliss remarked: “I am thrilled that we have secured this planning approval after many years of dedicated effort.
“We can now concentrate on initiating this project, which will elevate the Optima Stadium to a standard ground, complete with a brand new restaurant, bar, and hospitality amenities to support the club's advancement.”
The Optima Stadium, also referred to as the Woodspring Stadium, is situated in North Somerset.
A club statement expressed: “This signifies a major milestone for the club and represents the first significant step toward providing the enhanced facilities that our supporters, players, staff, and community deserve.
“With planning approved, the Board of Directors will commence the tendering process and pursue the necessary funding to advance the project.”
Weston-super-Mare currently competes in the National League South, the sixth tier of English football.
They are currently in second place on the table, three points behind Hornchurch with a game in hand.
