The Abia State government has clarified that the introduction of electric buses in the state is not aimed at undermining the existing transport companies.
The State’s Commissioner for Transport, Chimezie Ukaegbu, provided this assurance on Thursday during his visit to the Abia Line Network Company in Umuahia.
He explained that the electric buses, which are set to be introduced, are intended exclusively for urban mass transit. This initiative, he stated, will foster development and encourage other transport companies to enhance their services.
