Four players have been shortlisted for Sporting Lagos’ Player of the Month for May.
The players are Abraham Idakwo, Babatunde Akomolede, Jacob Aondona, and Thomson Gavi.
Idakwo and Akomolede were instrumental in the defence for coach Shola Adegun’s side in the month.
Aondona was a rock in the heart of Sporting Lagos’ midfield in the month; his breaking up play and holding the line with authority earned him a place in the list. Jacob also earned an assist in the period under review.
Gavi also had an impressive outing during the month.
The winner of the award will be announced this week.
Sporting Lagos are pushing for a Nigeria National League (NNL) Super Eight playoff spot.
The modest club occupies third position on the NNL Group B table with 31 points from 19 games.
