Abakaliki FC have confirmed that they will be participating in the 2025-26 Nigeria National League, NNL, season.

The Rice Boys have acquired a promotion slot from Hammola FC to play in the second tier league next term.

DAILY POST recalls that Abakaliki FC were relegated to the Nationwide League One, NLO, last season.

“Abakaliki FC’s NNL status have just been confirmed for the 2025-26 season,” the club’s media officer, Chukwuma Ogbonna-Torchlight told DAILY POST.

Abakaliki FC made the headlines for their impressive campaign in the 2025 President Federation Cup during the last campaign.

They finished as runners-up in the competition after losing 4-3 on penalties to Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, side Kwara United in the final.
