Troops have neutralized nine terrorists, apprehended eight suspects, and rescued 37 kidnapped victims, along with recovering a significant cache of weapons and logistics during recent operations.

A reliable source from Army Headquarters informed the News Agency of Nigeria that these operational successes were achieved across various theaters nationwide.

According to the source, the troops of the 151 Task Force Battalion ambushed ISWAP/JAS terrorists in Dipchari, Bama Local Government Area of Borno, resulting in the elimination of five insurgents.

The source further stated that the troops of the 148 Battalion, operating along the Ekiti–Kogi border, neutralized two insurgents and seized two AK-47 rifles.

Additionally, the troops of the 3 Battalion repelled a significant attack on their base, killing one terrorist and forcing others to retreat with injuries.

“In Borno, Katsina, Imo, and Plateau States, troops apprehended eight suspects associated with terrorism, kidnapping, and arms trafficking.

“These individuals include an ISWAP logistics courier, a terrorist collaborator, a wanted IPOB/ESN kingpin, and a gunrunner.

“Recovered items consist of firearms, ammunition, and several motorcycles used in criminal activities.

“Ongoing clearance operations have led to the rescue of 37 kidnapped victims in Kaduna, Taraba, Plateau, Delta, and Kebbi States.

“Notably, 28 hostages, including a pregnant woman who gave birth during the operation, were freed in Sakaba, Kebbi State,” he stated.
