NEYMAR has sought the help of “Dr. Miracle” in a desperate attempt to preserve his World Cup aspirations.

The former Barcelona and PSG forward, 33, has been struggling with a knee issue since rejoining his boyhood club Santos from Al-Hilal in January.

while representing Brazil in October 2023.

After defying doctors' advice, he laced up his boots to score five goals and provide an assist in their last four matches, ultimately saving them from relegation.

This remarkable performance has sparked calls for Neymar to be included in Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad for next summer’s World Cup — likely his final international tournament.

Now, Neymar is determined to make his dream a reality by consulting a doctor famous for achieving miraculous recoveries for footballers through unconventional methods.

Brazilian physiotherapist Dr. Eduardo Santos is recognized as a master in sports science and has held prestigious roles at Shanghai SIPG, Zenit St Petersburg, and Vitesse Arnhem.

Currently based in England, he is assisting Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz in recovering from a hamstring injury sustained a month ago.

Recently, Santos has also worked with Manchester United star Matheus Cunha and Monaco defender Vanderson.

His previous clients include notable players such as Philippe Coutinho, Oscar, and Hulk.

Neymar is hopeful that Santos can live up to his “Dr. Miracle” nickname, as the expert once performed wonders for former Chelsea and Arsenal defender David Luiz.

The then-PSG star was sidelined for 10 weeks due to a knee injury in 2015, but Santos had him back on the field in just 10 DAYS.

Neymar is now hoping for a swift recovery of his knee, allowing him to be fit for the beginning of the new domestic season in late January.

If he returns to play for Brazil, it would mark his first international appearance since the ACL injury he sustained in 2023.

However, coach Ancelotti has made it clear that he will not show favoritism in selecting his World Cup squad.

The Italian stated: “There are many talented players; I need to choose those who are at 100%. It’s not just Neymar; it could also be [Real Madrid forward] Vinicius.

“If Vinicius is at 90%, I’ll select another player who is at 100%, because we have a team with a very high level of skill, especially in the forward positions. We have numerous talented players.”

He added: “If we are discussing Neymar, we must also consider other players. We need to think about Brazil, whether it includes Neymar or other players. The final list will be determined after the FIFA date in March.

“I understand that there is a strong interest in Neymar. I want to clarify that we are in December, the World Cup is in June, and I will finalize the team that will participate in the World Cup in May.

“If Neymar deserves to be there and is in better shape than someone else, he will play in the World Cup, period. I don’t owe anyone anything.”
